Sunday found us enjoying a gorgeous day with an impromptu hike followed by an even more spontaneous campout in the backyard. Other than the small tradeoffs of not having unknown grounds to explore and the occasional interruptions of someone's air conditioner running, the backyard camping worked quite well for us. There was no packing and no long trek for the midnight bathroom run. The quote of the day came from J-man at the beginning of our hike, "This is way more fun than video games!"
My favorite moments of the day? NOT stepping on a snake that slithered right in front of me, cooking dinner in the chimnea with minimal cleanup, and listening to Ethan say our bedtime prayers while looking up to the sky from our sleeping quarters on the ground.
